Londoners relax on Tower Beach 1952

£25.00
Londoners relax on Tower Beach. Tower Beach was a popular day-trip destination, especially for the children and adults from the East End. A beach holiday atmosphere was created with 1,500 tons of sand alongside Tower Bridge. When children were evacuated out of London during the Second World War, the beach closed. It was reopened after the war but finally closed in 1971 due to the pollution of the Thames.
