The Surrey Commercial Docks: c.1880

£25.00
This photograph by Morgan & Laing of Greenwich is from a series taken of the Surrey Commercial Docks around 1876. It was likely to have been commissioned by the dock company to mark newly completed works. The Surrey Commercial Docks are a large group of docks in Rotherhithe on the south bank of the Thames. Relatively few photographs of London’s docks exist from the mid Victorian period and this series is one of the finest to have survived.
