Craig Yamey

Craig Yamey (Museo Design) is a London-based designer with over 25 years of experience creating thoughtful, visually striking collections for museum shops. Specialising in museum product design and storytelling through objects, Craig brings a deep understanding of history, illustration, and design to every project.

His work draws from countless hours spent sketching in museum galleries and exploring archives – transforming historical narratives into beautiful keepsakes and contemporary souvenirs. Whether he’s reimagining Shakespearean playbills or experimenting with medieval typography, Craig tailors his style to the story at hand rather than following a fixed aesthetic.

Rooted in the vibrant energy of 70s and 80s London – with its independent shops, street art, and rich graphic heritage – Craig’s creative path was shaped early on by weekend visits to museums, especially the London Museum. These formative experiences sparked a lifelong connection to the city’s stories and a passion for making history feel tangible through design.

He has collaborated on several London Museum projects, including Beasts of London, Fashion City, and most recently, Secrets of the Thames. For this latest collection, Craig was inspired by the exhibition’s mudlark finds – clay pipes, dolls’ heads, knives, vases – each one unearthed from the banks of the Thames. He translated these historic fragments into bold silhouettes, creating a playful design that invites you to guess the object while reflecting on the people who once used them. The range features over 40 mudlark objects from various historical periods. Each item tells its own unique story, representing the lives of those who lived through different eras.
