Docklands Earrings (small) Kumiko Kihara

Kumiko Kihara was raised in Kyoto, where traditional craft, subtle beauty, and cultural restraint deeply shaped her way of seeing.

She describes the inspiration for her collection inspired by the Secrets of the Thames exhibition at London Museum Docklands: "When I visited the exhibition, I discovered many personal stories. The artefacts found in the Thames reveal hidden secrets, stories of love, life, and death, which echo through layers of history. Each object seemed to whisper memories of the past, connecting the present with long-forgotten moments. I was deeply moved by these narratives and felt inspired to capture a fragment of these emotions in my jewellery. I collected mud from the river Thames and used it in a sand-casting process with sterling silver to create the Dockland Stories Collection"

Care instructions:

• Remove before practical activities to prevent damage.
• Apply perfumes, lotions, and sprays before putting on your jewellery.
• Store in airtight bags or boxes to reduce tarnish.
  
• Avoid damp or humid conditions.
  
• If it becomes too oxidised, place it in a bowl with 2 tsps bicarbonate of soda, hot water, and aluminium foil. Leave for 5–10 minutes, rinse with clean water, and gently wipe with a soft cloth.
