The inscription reads: 'The residence of Val Prinsep RA, and afterwards JJ Shannon RA, Holland Park Rd.' Despite this, it was not, in fact, the residence of Val Prinsep, who lived at 1 Holland Park Road. It was, though, the home at one time of James Jebusa Shannon.
