Vauxhall. A coloured aquatint of Vauxhall Gardens, depicting the orchestra and Madame Weichsel on a balcony. Below is a crowd including some notable personalities of the day. Dining in the box on the left are Boswell, Dr Johnson and Oliver Goldsmith. The two fashionable ladies in the centre are the Duchess of Devonshire and her sister, Lady Bessborough. The Prince of Wales is also in the crowd.
