The Water Chute at Battersea Park Funfair 1966

£25.00
The Water Chute at Battersea Park Funfair. Thousands spent their Easter bank holiday at the Battersea Park fun fair. The Water Chute was one of many attractions that also included the Big Dipper, a tree walk and dodgems. The fair opened as part of the Festival of Britain in 1951. On 30 May 1972, an accident on the Big Dipper resulted in the deaths of five children and the attraction was permanently closed. Popularity of the fair declined and it eventually closed in 1974.
