King's Cross railway Station, view taken from the East. The imposing front of what was, in Reid's time, the King's Cross terminus of the London and North Eastern Railway. It was built to the designs of Lewis Cubitt, for the Great Northern Railway in 1852. In 1867 the London terminus of the Midland Railway, St. Pancras Station, was built alongside it.
