Poster of a women in a land army uniform carrying a hoe. The government issued this propaganda poster urging women to join the Women's Land Army during the Second World War. Propaganda posters attempted to make Land Army work appear as glamorous as possible. The reality was often very different, and many women who volunteered to work on farms endured poor working and living conditions.
